This policy explains what we do with your personal information when you visit rosvienne.com, place an order or sign up for our emails. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and for customers in Quebec, the provincial privacy law known as Law 25. Because the company behind this store is established in the Netherlands, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to us as well, and we apply its standard to everyone.
The company responsible for your data is Rosvienne. For any privacy question, email support@rosvienne.com.
What we collect
- Your name, delivery address, email address and, if you give it, your phone number.
- What you ordered, what it cost and the status of that order.
- Payment confirmation. Your full card number never reaches us; it goes straight to the payment provider.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser, the pages you visit and how you reached us.
- What you write to us by email or in a form.
Why we use it
- To take, pack, ship and track your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To answer your questions.
- To send you our emails, but only if you signed up. Canada's anti-spam law (CASL) requires your consent, and every email has an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
- To keep the store secure and to prevent fraud and chargebacks.
- To understand how the store is used and to improve it, and to measure our advertising.
Who we share it with
Only the companies we need to run the store, and only for that purpose:
- Shopify, which hosts the store and processes orders.
- Payment providers, which process the payment.
- Our fulfilment partners and carriers, which pack and deliver your parcel.
- Email and analytics providers, and advertising platforms such as Meta, for measurement and marketing.
We never sell your personal information.
Where your data goes
Some of these companies store data outside Canada, including in the United States and Europe. While your data is there, it can be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access by authorities. We only work with providers that commit to protecting it.
How long we keep it
Order and tax records are kept for the period Canadian tax law requires, currently six years. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept for [2] years. After that we delete or anonymise.
Cookies
Our cookie policy explains which cookies we use and how to refuse them.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent for marketing. Email support@rosvienne.com and we will answer within 30 days. We may ask you to confirm who you are before we act, so that nobody else can request your data.
If you live in Quebec, you also have the right to receive your data in a portable format and to object to profiling used for decisions about you.
If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca, or to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec if you live in Quebec. You may also contact the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), the regulator for the country where we are established.
Children
This store is not intended for children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
The store runs over an encrypted connection and payments are handled by certified providers. No system is perfect, so if a breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the regulator as the law requires.
